The most frequently asked question of any author is: Where do you get your ideas?
I was 13 years old when I began writing. Growing up with three older brothers helps to create an imagination, one filled with drama and adventure. Needless to say, there was never a dull moment in that house. So I used what I did and saw to write from my heart.
My first book The Enemy Within (Working Title) sat on my shelf for almost 15 years, then through a series of life changing events, I blew the dust off and had it published.
Why the Poems? (The Ben & Ink Series: Lets Find You and FROG)
I have been asked many times about the poems. The short answer is, when I write I find myself trying to express more than just sentences, and a part of me wants to dig deeper, beyond sentences, so I added poems to reach a deeper level of emotion. This became something unique in me as a writer and some people took notice. The Ben & Ink Series is a collection of stories filled with poems that came from the heart.
What am I working on now?
I have several books started as well as short stories. I write in different genres under a pen name and as long as I have breath, I will continue this journey.
What have I learned?
Several years ago, I woke up clueless to this business. The publishing business isn't anything it used to be. Especially with E-Readers now on the market. I have learned, that I still have a lot to learn.
I'm a member of Liberty State Fiction Writers where I have learned and continue to grow with this group of Authors.
I'm a member of the American Legion, where Veterans know the true meaning of courage as well as a member of Paper Houses.org and Saveagato.org.
